Well folks, all good things must come to an end. This is the very last burger installment of my Great Summer #PorkOff. It has been so fun coming up with new recipes and ways to eat this amazing and tasty thing named ground pork. I learned that pork is so versatile and can be paired with almost anything if it’s done right. Mid-way through the summer I kept thinking about the Iowa Made-Rite and where I could fit this in during the summer. It made sense to end this amazing pork event with my pork version of the Made-Rite. I hope you have enjoyed enjoyed my recipes this summer, my husband sure has! By the way, my husband has used that beer cheese I made last week as a condiment for anything and everything he can find. I can see a round-up post on all of the burger sauces I featured this summer coming soon!
Have you seen all of the juicy pork burgers I have made this summer? Take a look at the list!
The Iowa Made-Rite is a loose meat seasoned sandwich that is enjoyed with any toppings you desire. It’s not a sloppy-joe, with sloppy-joe like sauce. I love Made-Rites, and they are the perfect Tuesday-night-pull-together-in-20-minutes kind of meal. I paired this with baked sweet potatoes and baked beans, our two favorite burger sides. This burger is a crowd pleaser!
2 lbs. Ground Pork
1 tsp. Chicken Bouillon
1/2 Cup Water
1 Chopped Onion
1 1/2 Tblsp. Soy Sauce
1/2 to 1 tsp. garlic (to your liking)
1/2 tsp. Pepper (to your liking)
Heat the water and chicken bouillon in a pan with the chopped onion until softened. Add the ground pork and the rest of the ingredients and simmer for about 30 minutes and until the burger is fully cooked stirring every so often. Add to your favorite bun and favorite burger toppings, I like ketchup and pickles. Enjoy!
Also, the WINNER of my pork giveaway from last week will be announced tomorrow morning! Check out The Beer Cheese Brat page to see who it is!
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. I am sad to be saying farewell to another summer, we had so much fun with family vacations, swimming, camping, and visits to the park! This means that my most favorite season is upon us, fall! It seems it goes by so fast but there is so much to be enjoyed, and who doesn’t love sweatshirt weather?! There are lots of exciting things coming to Fit & Farm, even better than the Great Summer #PorkOff so stay tuned!
